To behold is to look closely, pay attention, fix your eyes upon, consider deeply.

What has your attention is shaping your affection, and what has your affection is shaping your life.

1. BEHOLD His Love

1 John 3:16 This is how we have come to know love: He laid down his life for us.

Romans 5:8 “But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

16“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has this world’s goods and sees a fellow believer in need but withholds compassion from him — how does God’s love reside in him? 

18 Little children, let us not love in word or speech, but in action and in truth.

2 Behold His Surrender.

Romans 12:1 “In view of God's mercy, offer your bodies as a living sacrifice…”

Romans 12: fully reads: Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship.

“To worship Jesus is to hand over everything of ourselves to Him because Jesus handed Himself over to God.”

How can I behold the ONE who gave everything for me and still believe that there are parts of my life that belong to me?

3. Behold His Worth

Surrender and sacrifice ONLY makes sense when you understand the worth of the One You are surrendering to.

29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29 

Revelation 5:9-12 

 9 And they sang a new song: You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and you purchased people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation.10 You made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth. 11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels around the throne, and also of the living creatures and of the elders. Their number was countless thousands, plus thousands of thousands. 12 They said with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!

“Will you surrender your life to the One who is worthy?”

BEHOLD HIS LOVE and LOVE LIKE HIM.

BEHOLD HIS SURRENDER and SURRENDER TO HIM.

BEHOLD HIS WORTH and WORSHIP HIM.
