BELIEVE - Intimate Prayer + Just Go NOTES
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
16 Rejoice always,
17 pray constantly,
18 give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Pray like everything depends on God, Work like it depends on us!
- Doesnt everything already depend on God?
- Does God really need my help?
- How can God and I tag team in the same mission?
The main connection piece between PRAYER and GOING is that someone BELIEVES!
To Believe
To accept something as true, real, or correct, often without having absolute proof.
What is the last thing you believed without having absolute proof?
When we BELIEVE, we dont just HAVE faith, we EXERCISE faith.
Matthew 9:35 Jesus continued going around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.”
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Ephesians 6:18
We believe that nothing significant or lasting can happen apart from God. Intimate prayer is how we align ourselves with God and His ways. Prayer is often only done when one needs something, but that’s not all prayer is intended to be! Pray like everything depends on God. As a church we will pray often, pray together, pray alone, & pray without ceasing.

There must come a time in our prayers where it turns to a PUSH….
37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few.
38 Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.”
Harvest = People are ready to be picked, who are ready to believe, who are ready to turn to Christ.
Workers are few = Not many Christians are taking part in sharing the story of Jesus
Lord of harvest to SEND OUT = Call the Christians to take part in the work
Acts 1:8 But you will receive POWER when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my WITNESSES in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Core question:
What has God already told me to do that I'm still waiting to feel ready for?
Workers JUST GO and do the job that was assigned to them because they believe that He who called them to it is gonna be faithful to complete it in them!
“Just go!” without prayer can become reckless activity.
“Let's keep praying” without obedience can become spiritual procrastination.
SAY IT WITH ME:
We wanna PRAY like everything depends on GOD, and WORK like it depends on US
CHALLENGE
Take time this week to pray with your family, your spouse, your kids, your roommates and come up with a game plan to get into the harvest!
